As I post it and look at it on the screen I see just how important it is to actually see the painting as it has a beautiful quality missed here. Lockdowns have meant I have lived on my farm at Buxton misguidedly thinking I’d get lots and lots of painting done but found there are so many distractions, like the birds, the flowers and grasses, the weather with its light illuminating the landscape and it’s clouds dancing across the mountain and the day’s gone. When I could find space in my studio I worked on some larger pieces but often found myself in a tiny space and in my mind discovering different spaces in colour and design.
